Code in the Community
We are very pleased to work with Google to bring Code in the Community to 3,000 young Singaporeans from less well-to-do backgrounds. A multi-year, multi-level computer science and computational thinking course, it aims to get even more Singaporean kids excited about the potential of technology.
MULTI-YEAR STEM PROGRAM SPONSORED BY GOOGLE
With Saturday Kids as Program Manager and Education Services Partner, we are working with Singapore’s four ethnic Self-Help Groups—the Chinese Development Assistance Council, Singapore Indian Development Association, The Eurasian Association and Yayasan Mendaki—to hold weekend classes for kids aged 8 to 15, with an equal mix of boys and girls. The program, which started in early 2017, is being delivered by Saturday Kids at four Community Centers around the island for three years.
AGE 8-11 YRS
Students will be learning Scratch, a block-based programming language.
AGE 12-15 YRS
Students will be learning Python, a text-based programming language.
