Empower: AI for Girls

FOR GIRLS IN POLYTECHNICS

Empower: AI for Girls program for girls was launched in October 2018 in partnership with Ngee Ann Polytechnic. The 10 week course (3 hours every Saturday) introduces girls to the basics of AI techniques (supervised learning, unsupervised learning), coding and deploying ML models in Python, connecting business problems to AI solutions, and the ethics of AI.

The program was very well received by girls in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and was expanded to allow girls from all five polytechnics in Singapore to participate.

The program has run over 6 times and taught almost 200 students in Singapore. 21C Girls continues to work with the Polytechnic leadership to further scale and developer the Empower course.
